As part of the City of Atlanta’s development program for the Hartsfield International Airport, this project was the design-build of bridge structures that will suspend a planned addition of a fifth runway across 10 lanes of interstate traffic. The two bridge structures span nearly 400 feet of interstate and represent the longest highway crossing by any airport runway in the United States. The first structure is approximately 1,200 feet in length and 500 feet wide. The second bridge is more than 500 feet long and 220 feet wide.
